most artists create and wait to be discovered by the right buyer. I prefer to find the right client, get to know their space and then create for it.
ART & FLOURISHING
Art enlivens and enlarges your vision of who you are and of what you can achieve.
FLOWERS & SODA BOTTLES
The "Indian Queen Tulip" (shown here) is one example of my series of flowers & soda bottles.
"It relaxes my mind to paint flowers."
Dutch Still Life Series: During the Dutch Reformation new genres of art emerged to celebrate scenes of every day life. A social revolution was taking place, and art was at the forefront. The "Dutch Still Life Series" is my homage to this period and its meaning for us, today.
This client, known for exquisitely generous hospitality, enjoys a rich artistic heritage on both sides of the family. The home's minimalist aesthetic helps counterbalance the pleasant and ever-present commotion of visitors, children and grandchildren. The space selectively incorporates family influences from Long Island's Gilded Age to Andy Warhol's Factory to turn of the century Chicago to Picasso's Paris and Georgia O'Keeffe's Taos. This painting ("Dutch Still Life No. 6") adds colorful movement to anchor and compliment this very hospitable house.
“A painter can say all he wants to with fruit or flowers.”
"I shall do some studies of flowers. It is a great pleasure for me."
